013 - Anthony and Kirra are experienced tiny housers living in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Kirra is a silversmith and Anthony is an environmental educator and they’ve been living off-grid in a tiny home for over three years.

Kirra’s background is in spiritual awakening, environmental awareness and wellbeing, aswell as being a passionate advocate for handmade arts and craft culture.

Although Anthony grew up in the coastal town of Coffs Harbour, he spent nearly half his life traveling and living overseas. It was here that he became engaged in environmental and social issues joining discussion groups, running events and producing a radio show with a friend. His interest in alternative living and food growing became quite an obsession and he dreamed of, one day, living off-grid back home in Australia.

In this conversation we talk about:

  • Natural building materials including natural paint
  • Unexpected discoveries, challenges and lessons learned from tiny house living (including navigating relationships and living with others in a small space)
  • Regenerative agriculture and syntropic food forests
  • Having a deeper connection with nature, the weather, the seasons and everyday life through tiny house living
  • Conscious lifestyle choices and ways to reduce single-use plastics
  • Lots more!
