EPISODE 32 -

About our guest
Philippa is a proud Northerner, who studied law at university, and she spent most of her career exploring the UK, subconsciously seeking "home". She settled in the beautiful city of Bristol where she now lives with her husband, two teenage sons and Bob the dog.

During her own personal transformation, through healing childhood trauma and learning to love and live for herself, she arrived at her soul mission to guide people to be the truest versions of themselves because she believes that is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.

She proudly supports NACOA (the National Association for Children of Alcoholics). Discovering a joy for writing, wild-swimming and even running (slowly) in mid-life has been a fabulous surprise.

Philippa has a podcast (Meeting of Minds) and is a certified coach. Her memoir, I See, Me, was released on 30th November 2021 and is available in paperback and on kindle at Amazon. To find out more about working with Philippa, click the button below

The Book:
I SEE, ME a memoir by Bristol author - Philippa Robinson
Release date: 30 November 2021
Following her sight loss in 2017, leaving her long legal career in 2019 and the end of three years’ therapy in January 2020, Philippa knew she was going to write a book. She had learned so much since 2017, so much she had zero idea about before she started but had been so helpful in her healing. She felt compelled to write down everything she had learned about her life so far. Things like being the child of an alcoholic mother and being left by her father at a very young age, from losing her sight and redirecting her life vision and from being put on her first diet age 7. She wanted to write it all down to honour what she had been through, and to somehow draw a line under it. She also thought it might help raise awareness for others because she figured if she hadn't known any of it then there are likely to be other people who don't know as well.

The premise of the book is :

“In January 2017 when Philippa suddenly lost a lot of the sight in her right eye, what followed wasn’t just the medical process of recovering most of that sight but an unravelling of the previous 47 years of her life to revisit the things she had refused to see. The ensuing transformation has enabled Philippa to have a totally new vision of her present and future and a desire to share it with you in the hope that it can help you see things in a new light too.

This is Philippa’s journey from “less than” to “enough”, from fearful, in pain and angry to open, courageous and alive. “

Philippa’s wish for the book is that it leaves people feeling hopeful. In fact one reviewer told her that reading the book left her feeling “ …hopeful we can all go through the fire and come out better.” Another reader said “I cried for you, I cried for your Mum and I cried for myself”.
