Big Idea of the Message: : After outlining basic Christian character traits, Paul focuses on individual responsibilities within the family. Besides basic behaviours, there are specific responsibilities for functions within God’s economy.
Gather:

· Spend some time asking God to strengthen each of you as you continue to walk for Him.

Explain how Christ is the example for each part of family. (For example, if I am a father or mother? Am I single, or married? Have my children left home? Do I have elderly family members to look after? How is Jesus my example?)
Does submission imply inferiority? Why or why not?
What is a positive, impactful action you have experienced from your parent?
How can one be an example of Christ at work?

· Talk about the issues it highlights that we can see in the world around us.
· Spend some time praying for the families, of all varieties, in our communities. Ask God to bless them. Pray for the work of Christian organisations working to strengthen family life, marriages and childhood all across our nation.
