I would say at this age, what is important in my life is to feel happy and for me that starts with the mind. Losing my success was losing who I identified with. Having to start all over from scratch is teaching me to separate what happens to me in life from who I am. I could have never anticipated how long it would take to feel even slightly in control of my life again. This change was devastating. You don't start a business and suddenly become successful. Not knowing week to week what I can afford is stressful so making money has to be where I invest my energy. Luckily I love what I do so I don't mind putting in the long hours. I strive to keep the original vision for my brand while allowing it to grow organically. If there's anything that I have proven to myself it's that I can do anything that I set my focus on. It all begins with the foundation of your business. If it's not strong, it'll crumble. I have amazing support by the community. I am TRULY so grateful to everyone. I started out selling Christmas decor & gift baskets until I could start my boutique. The Southern Kind slowly grew from 100 sq. ft. to 400 sq. ft. I also co-own Sugar Rush Candy which is also located inside Yorkville Marketplace, in downtown York, SC.
