In this very first episode of Med Control Monthly, we’ll introduce you to a few key staff members of the Oakland County Medical Control Authority. Geoff Lassers is the host of Med Control Monthly, as well as the EMS System Manager of the OCMCA and a firefighter/paramedic with the West Bloomfield Fire Department. Geoff is accompanied with
the OCMCA Executive Director, Bonnie Kincaid, as well as John Theut, who is currently the med control Quality Improvement Coordinator, and recently retired as a Captain and Paramedic from the Ferndale Fire Department after 25-years of service.
In this episode, Bonnie, John, and Geoff introduce the Med Control Monthly Podcast to our system of EMS agencies and hospitals and discuss three primary responsibilities of the OCMCA. This is the first of many discussions that we’ll be having about Oakland County’s EMS system, and we hope it gives you a better understanding of what your medical control authority is, what it does, and how it works to assure the highest level of patient care and system-wide support.
