It may sound odd for me to tell you to visit the restroom before you start recording, but picture this: You’re about to interview a guest. You sit down, perform mic checks and hit record. Things are going well. The interview is rolling along, you’re getting great one-liners, and you have a genuine connection with your guest. They’re comfortable. Suddenly, you’re already forty-five minutes into your interview and you get the urge to pee. Well, your guest is a talker. And they are talking. They are still talking. Then it’s sixty minutes into your interview, then seventy. Suddenly you feel like you’re going to burst. Do yourself a favor, take that restroom break before you begin and go slow on beverages while you record.
