This episode focuses on providing an overview of the Stanley Milgram "learning" experiments of the early 1960s, as well as engages in a series of critical reflections concerning whether the driving force being given expression by the participants of those experiments was a matter of "obedience" or a function of a process involving the ceding of agency to others based on various forms of trust. In addition, the implications of the foregoing experiments for democracy are briefly examined.
