Advent is about hope.
It is a season where, thrust into the part of the year where the days are short and dark, we are reminded of the message of John 1, light has come into the world. Advent is the time where we remember that right into the heart of darkness, light has come. And so, at its heart, Advent is a season of waiting. It literally means in the Latin, to come. It's a season where we remember that Jesus came and he promised that he will come again.

God's mission is to bring his kingdom rule to all creation and has tasked his church with being on mission with Him to share the great hope of the gospel with all humanity. We look at how we, as the church, impact those we meet in a natural, loving way in the power and authority he has given us.
Part four of our look at The Church focuses on the call to be serve reminding us who it is we serve and the reasons He has given us to be servants not spectators in this world.
In part three of our series on The Church we will look at the sometimes controversial topic of money asking how God wants us to handle our money by looking at what He has to say in both the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount.
This week we’re thinking about Community in the Church. Chris opens up Acts 2:42-27 and builds on what Debbie shared last week while looking at how we’re called to Care for one another, Worship together, Eat together and be on Mission together.
As we begin our new series 'The Church' we offer an answer to the two-fold question, 'what is the church and what is its purpose?', by looking at the teachings of Jesus and Paul and the example of the earliest expression of church in Acts 2.
Some Greek men appeared in Jerusalem and witnessed the events of Holy week. Their request of the disciples is simply 'We would see Jesus' (John 12:21). What exactly did they see and, as we witness the events of Palm Sunday and beyond, will we truly see this Jesus, our Saviour and King?
We round out this series in Galatians by looking at what Paul has to say to the Galatian Christians about how they are to relate to one another in light of what Christ has done and the freedom He has won.
Chris continues our series in Galatians, highlighting the differences between living in law, in licence and in the Spirit.
In week 6 of our study in Galatians we look at how Paul grounds our freedom in Christ in the reality of who we are using a story from the life of Abraham to drive his point home.
In this fifth instalment of our series in Galatians we expose the lies of the enemy and explore the truth of the Bible about our God given identities.
If we can save ourselves, Christ’s death is pointless. If we know we cannot save ourselves, Christ’s death is everything.” Tim Keller. In Galatians 2, Paul opposes Peter for being a hypocrite and twisting the true Gospel. What is the true Gospel Paul is referring to? Salvation through faith alone. In this message we tackle the themes in this passage and together learn how we can remain steadfast on the truth of the Gospel, that which is freeing and complete.
In Galatians 1 and 2 we see the apostle Paul in Freedom Fighter mode, determined to wrestle for the true freedom we have in the gospel of Christ. We learn together that it is vital to contend for that freedom ourselves: for our own sake, for the sake of our fellow-believers and for the sake of unity in our church; as we together model living in freedom and love to the world.
Paul's deepest concern for the Galatian believers was that they were deserting the gospel he preached to them so this week we will look at what the message of that gospel is, why it was so vital to Paul that those Christians held firm to it and why that still matters today.
This Sunday Debbie begins our series studying through the letter to the Galatians by looking at the background to this group of churches that Paul was writing to.
God calls us to live a life of compassion following the example of Jesus. In today's service we celebrate what we are doing as a church through our compassion ministries and challenge each other to have a heart for the needs around us.
In 1978 Boney M asked, 'how shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?'. This week we learn from three friends in Daniel 3 exactly how to 'sing God's praise' in a culture that is both strange and unfriendly.
This Christmas we look at the hope that Christmas brings with its reminder that this world we inhabit is not all there is, there is another world, one we cannot see. Christmas is the time when that world invaded our world as a baby and brought the promise that one day we could be with Him.

This Sunday moves us into the final section of our series, Holiness and Wholehearted Devotion to God, where we look at the impact of holiness. What difference will people who answer God's call to live holy lives make in the world around them?
How do Spiritual Disciplines help us to live a life that love’s God with all our heart, soul and strength.
This week Chris looked at who the Holy Spirit is and the role he plays in our transformation as we become more like Jesus.
As we enter a new movement in our series on holiness and wholehearted devotion to God we will look at the part we play in this. But we start by reminding ourselves of the transforming grace of God that means we do not have to work to make ourselves right with God. Our 'rightness' comes as a gift of His grace and that same grace will continue to transform us.
We are called to be holy as God is holy but what happens when we get off track through sin, disappointment or hurt? The example of Peter can help us to see a loving God who believes and practices Holy Restoration.
Lauren brings a message around the joy holy conviction can bring us, how we often miss this when we confuse it with condemnation and how it allows us to step into closer relationship with our heavenly father.
This Sunday we continue this study on holiness by looking at the problem we all face when it comes to relating to a holy God, our sin. We ask what sin is, where it has come from and how it impacts the relationship we have with God.
Looking at how as we pursue holiness, continuing to submit ourselves to the will and way of the Lord, we are cultivating a lifestyle of worship. For worship has and always will be the battleground for our hearts affection.

This Sunday we look at the role of community in the life of a disciple of Jesus by studying some of the 'one another' instructions in Scripture.
This Sunday Chris spent some time helping us think about what Jesus had to say about Prayer. Focusing on Matthew 6: 5-13, he reflected on why we should come before God in prayer as needy, loved children before opening up how Jesus called us to Kingdom centred prayers.
