People don’t pick and choose when they die, and that one fact changes everything about the people who respond when a life ends. We sit down with a funeral service operative to talk about the deathcare work most of us never see: the 3 a.m. callouts, the constant on-call rotation, and why the hours burn through staff even faster than the sight of a dead body ever could. If you’ve ever wondered who actually arrives, what they do first, and how they keep functioning, this conversation goes there with honesty and detail.

We walk through the real chain of events from the first phone call to transport and mortuary care, including the difference between an expected death at home and a sudden death under a coroner’s contract that requires police presence and a post-mortem. He explains the roles inside funeral services, why evidence matters at murders and serious collisions, and how celebrity deaths can turn a scene into a public spectacle thanks to cameras and social media. We also talk about presentation, how families choose clothing, why the face can look unfamiliar after death, and what those changes make him believe about the soul and consciousness.

Then the conversation turns to the hardest calls: severe decomposition, violent scenes, and the quiet tragedy of someone being left unnoticed for months. We explore compartmentalizing, what it takes to comfort families in shock, and how religion and cultural expectations can clash with urgent government timelines when time is not negotiable. If death scares you, you’re not alone; we end with a candid answer to whether he fears death and why. We talk with Luna Westish about growing up in The Way International and how it shaped money, relationships, and control over her body. We trace what it takes to leave a high control religion and rebuild boundaries, community, and a sense of self.
• growing up with questions that get shut down
• learning later that the group is widely labeled a cult
• recruiting tactics, love bombing, and financial manipulation
• sexual coercion, abuse, and the danger of offshoot fellowships
• boundary violations in childhood and how they echo into adulthood
• the “coffee” invitation moment that clarifies danger
• leaving as a decision that takes years to form
• responsibility versus culpability for adults who choose the system
• rebuilding life through work changes, mutual aid, and self-trust
• healing in phases, chronic illness limits, and listening to the body

Feeling “emotionally left” can mess with your whole life, even when nothing looked obviously wrong from the outside. Danica joins us to talk about complex trauma through the lens so many people recognize: caregivers who were physically present, but emotionally misattuned. That chronic gap can teach a kid to overfunction, stay hyper aware, and believe they have to handle everything alone.

We dig into what complex trauma actually means, how it differs from complex PTSD symptoms, and why survivors often become brutally hard on themselves. We connect the dots between self blame, people pleasing, perfectionism, and repeating the same relationship with a “new actor.” Danica breaks down the nervous system piece in plain language, including why ambiguity can feel dangerous and why “control” is often a request for something healthier: containment, regulation, and the ability to come back to baseline after stress.

You’ll also hear practical, grounded approaches from somatic therapy and trauma informed care: meeting basic needs as real nervous system work, rebuilding hunger and thirst cues, and learning to describe emotions as sensations instead of getting trapped in a single story. We also talk attachment adaptations, titration, and why going low and slow in dating can be a powerful way to build earned security.

If you’ve been wondering whether healing is possible after childhood emotional neglect, this conversation offers both clarity and hope. Subscribe to Multispective, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a rating and review so more listeners can find these trauma healing tools.

A mother tells her child that one “impure” thought could mean eternal fire and she claims she can read minds. That fear becomes the fuel for a family-run, high-control religious group where confession lasts until 3 a.m., “demons” explain every human impulse, and doubt is treated like a moral failure.

Peggy, author of Surviving the Family Kingdom and a psychotherapist, unpacks what it’s like when the cult leader is also your parent. Peggy walks us through the early chaos that made her mother vulnerable to extreme beliefs, the Pentecostal influence that normalized spiritual spectacle, and the slow shift from searching for faith to building a closed system of control. We talk about coercive control tactics like sleep deprivation, isolation, punishments, the “hot seat,” and how love bombing can flip into fear the moment someone stops complying.

Then we follow the moment everything breaks open: motherhood. Peggy describes how parenting clarified what she could no longer accept, how she stopped policing her own mind, and why leaving required a strategy that protected her from manipulation. We also explore the harder, less-discussed part of cult recovery and religious trauma: rebuilding identity, living with triggers, and navigating a complicated relationship with an aging parent who never offers acknowledgement. Peggy shares how EMDR helped neutralize the images and body memories that kept her feeling haunted.

“Everybody has a little bit of ADHD” is one of those phrases that sounds harmless until you measure impact. ADHD isn’t just distractibility or being late sometimes. It’s a neurodevelopmental disorder that can shape attention regulation, executive dysfunction, working memory, impulse control, and emotional dysregulation in ways that strain jobs, relationships, sleep, and self-trust.

We sit down with Leah, an ADHD life and mindset coach, to unpack what adult ADHD looks like in real life and why the label can be both clarifying and confusing. We get into ADHD types (inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, combined), why so many women were missed as kids, and how ADHD can be misread as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, autism (AuDHD), or “just stress.” Leah also breaks down how the ADHD diagnosis process can differ across countries and clinics, and why support shouldn’t stop at a prescription.

From there, we move into what actually helps: shifting self-talk from shame to neutral reflection, understanding how executive functions create a domino effect, and building low-friction systems that make follow-through easier. Think night-before setups, habit stacking (yes, meds on the coffee machine), and a regulation toolbox that can include journaling, breathwork, sensory supports, and yoga nidra (non-sleep deep rest). The takeaway is simple but powerful: pick one or two changes, give them two weeks, and let consistency compound.

Unhealthy relationships can feel like a whirlwind, and that speed can be the point. We sit down with Laurilyn to trace how early conditioning around silence, safety, and approval can echo into adulthood as people pleasing, self-abandonment, and repeating the same relationship dynamics. Her story moves from a childhood shaped by fear and consequences to the reality of emotional abuse, violence, and the complicated question of when it’s safe to speak your truth.

From there, we get practical about healing. Laurilyn explains why personal safety is her top core value, how she exits conversations that aren’t safe, and what it looks like to rebuild self-trust one choice at a time. We also dig into concrete self-love practices that aren’t fluffy, including daily journaling, “dating yourself,” and learning to stop outsourcing your worth to partners. The big shift is moving from need and negotiation to alignment and boundaries.

Then the lens widens to communication skills. Laurilyn shares what solo travel taught her about nonverbal communication, tension, and the power of the unspoken. She breaks down her CHAT Communication System, a communication styles framework designed to help you meet people where they are, whether you’re navigating dating, family dynamics, leadership, or workplace conflict. You’ll also hear actionable tips for writing emails and CVs that land with different communication styles.

Natasha Pierre spent years carrying a secret that shaped every room she walked into: the fear of being found out. Under the ambition and the “I’ve got this” energy lived survivor’s guilt, PTSD, panic, depression, disordered eating, and a bipolar diagnosis she didn’t feel safe naming out loud. The most powerful part of her story isn’t just what she survived, it’s how she learned to stop letting shame run the show.

We start with her childhood where she learned ownership early by helping run a tourist shop and chasing big dreams. She shares about school life, feeling unlikeable, getting teased, being sick often, and later discovering old journal entries that revealed how early depression had really begun. We also talk about why adults should treat kids’ behavior as information, not attitude, and how curiosity and support can change a life.

She shares about mental health treatment and self-advocacy. Natasha breaks down what hypomania can feel like, why sleep is a non-negotiable, how “medication roulette” works in real life, and why symptoms can overlap with ADHD and autism. She also shares what shifted when she finally told the truth publicly, and how her books connect to reclaiming happiness and using imposter syndrome as a signal for growth.

PTSD doesn’t always look like movie flashbacks. Sometimes it looks like a body that can’t downshift, a mind stuck on alert, and a craving for intensity that turns “normal life” into something flat and unbearable. Mark knows that terrain firsthand. He walks us through the path from working class Philly to the Marines, then back into civilian life carrying hypervigilance, depression, heavy drinking, and the quiet isolation many veterans feel when the structure disappears and the adrenaline is gone.

We also get honest about what comes after survival: risky behavior, identity built around being “high strung,” and the kind of suicidal thinking people hide because they’re still functioning on paper. Parenthood becomes the turning point, the moment he decides he needs real mental health support if he’s going to be a father. From there, the conversation opens into spirituality and mindfulness without the fog machine, where “spiritual” means how you treat your family, how you drive in traffic, and whether you can meet your own inner chaos without running from it.

Mark’s Zen meditation approach is radically simple and surprisingly hard: sit down, expect nothing, and pay attention. We talk Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind, why guided practices can accidentally plant outcomes, how to relate to a wandering mind, and why breath awareness becomes powerful over years instead of minutes. He also shares a memorable blue light story that connects meditation, grief, and community in a way that feels both mystical and practical.

If you want a realistic way to start a daily meditation practice for stress, trauma recovery, and nervous system regulation, this one gives you a method you can actually do today. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a rating and review so more listeners can find the show.

What if many physical illnesses actually begin with mental and emotional stress?

In this episode, medical practitioner Dr. Bob Smith challenges the traditional approach to healthcare and argues that doctors must understand their patients’ mental health, life circumstances, and emotional wellbeing before making accurate diagnoses.

Modern medicine often focuses on treating symptoms or isolated pain points, but Dr. Smith believes this approach misses the bigger picture. According to him, many physical diseases stem from psychological stress, trauma, anxiety, and unresolved mental health struggles.

Dr. Smith explains why medical education needs to change, criticizing universities for not embedding psychiatry and mental health training deeply enough in medical programs. Without this training, doctors may unintentionally overlook the root causes of illness.

By taking time to truly understand patients- their mental state, lifestyle, stress levels, and personal history- physicians can provide more compassionate care, better diagnoses, and more effective treatment plans.

🔎 In this episode we discuss:
• The connection between mental health and physical disease
• Why symptom-based treatment often fails
• The role of psychiatry in modern medicine
• How doctors can improve patient care and compassion
• Why medical schools must rethink their training models

This conversation offers a powerful perspective on the future of holistic healthcare and patient-centered medicine.

💬 Should mental health training be mandatory for doctors?

Chaos didn’t arrive all at once for Charissa; it accumulated.. custody hearings, restraining orders, police lights outside the window, until crisis felt like the only rhythm of home. We sit with her through the memories most people look away from: sibling fights recorded for proof, eighty-plus CPS reports that opened and closed like revolving doors, and a medical maze where stimulants and SSRIs masked trauma instead of meeting needs. What emerges is a rare, unflinching map of how systems miss children when they treat behavior without context and listen to adults more than the kids living the truth.

Charissa explains how overmedication took her childhood offline, sleeping through classes, wired at night, and twice rushed from school with a 160 resting heart rate while suspicions of Munchausen by proxy pulsed beneath the surface. She draws careful lines between control disguised as care, fragmented providers, and a culture that treats children as parental property until eighteen. When an arrest at 18 forced independence, she found a way out: temporary housing, college, and a mission to make sure other young people don’t get swallowed by the same gaps. Today, she’s shaping policy, co-creating a national playbook of best practices, and pushing for adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Across the conversation, we unpack what “best interests of the child” should mean in practice: youth voice at the table for hearings and family meetings, transparent case communication, limits on polypharmacy, tracking doctor switching, and trauma-informed support that tackles root causes instead of staging a calmer scene. Teresa’s ask is simple and radical: believe kids enough to investigate the inconvenient explanation. If we center respect, agency, and safety, we can transform CPS touchpoints from crisis management into real protection—and stop calling survival symptoms “the problem.”

If this story moved you, subscribe to Multispective, share it with someone who cares about child welfare, and leave a review with the one change you think would protect kids faster. Your voice helps push reform forward.

A single line of meth made the world go quiet for Jason—and for years he chased that silence through dealing, manufacturing, and a life that looked powerful on the outside while hollowing him out within. He tells us how constant moves as a kid shaped a deep need to be chosen, and how that unmet need made the first high feel like belonging. The spiral accelerated: selling to fund the feeling, inventing rules to feel “safe,” and convincing himself that politeness and profit weren’t in conflict with harm. Even a “geographic” reset couldn’t outrun the pattern; drugs found him again, an apartment was stripped clean, and the streets of Vegas became home.

Then came the sentence that changed everything: “I’m pregnant.” Jason quit cold turkey and went home to a grandmother who held him without judgment. But the story didn’t end at sobriety. He overcorrected into promotions, degrees, and corporate prestige—until open bars, status, and cocaine replayed the old melody in a sharper key. A 0.38 DUI, crushing grief, and a near-suicidal drive toward a tree became the second bottom that forced him into rehab and an honest inventory of the self he kept dragging from city to city.

The breakthrough arrived in therapy: look your younger self in the eyes and tell him what you’ve done with his life. That moment reframed his mission. Jason now believes the opposite of addiction is being seen—by others and by the parts of ourselves we’ve abandoned. He lays out practical recovery principles: radical willingness to change people and places, building a safe bubble when needed, daily gratitude, refusing negativity, and verbalizing what you enjoy so your mind learns to follow it. Today he counsels others through his “Madness Method,” turning hard-won lessons into guidance that’s equal parts streetwise and compassionate.

What if the romance that felt like destiny was actually data collection for control? We sit down with a counselor-in-training who specializes in narcissistic abuse to map the full arc—from the intoxicating highs of love bombing to the quiet, confusing grind of devaluation, gaslighting, and financial isolation. Together we unpack why narcissism is best understood as a spectrum of traits, how shame fuels rage and blame-shifting, and why change is rare without deep humility and accountability.

We dig into the types you’ll meet at home and work: the charismatic grandiose leader who dazzles in public, the brooding vulnerable type who lives in grievance, and the communal figure who performs virtue while exploiting in private. You’ll learn why boundaries often provoke more testing, how to gray rock without second-guessing yourself, and when “no contact” is safest. For those who can’t leave yet, we offer practical scripts and strategies to limit engagement, stop taking the bait, and protect your mental space.

If you grew up with an emotionally immature or narcissistic parent, this conversation speaks directly to the people-pleasing reflex that ties worth to productivity and usefulness. We guide you to shift from performance to self-worth: naming needs, building small boundary reps, and choosing safe people to celebrate your wins. You’ll hear how to grieve the fantasy of who someone should be and accept who they are, so you can stop relying on unsafe partners for joy, validation, or support.

Ready to reclaim your power and clarity? Press play, learn the signs, and take one concrete step toward healthier boundaries. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a review to help others find these tools. Your story can start a chain reaction of healing.

What if the most dangerous story you carry is the quiet one—“life just is this way”? Timothy grew up in a home without hugs or hard talks, where silence felt normal and safety meant familiarity. That quiet shaped anxious attachment, constant tomorrow-thinking, and a belief that mistakes defined him. When the weight finally became unlivable, he drove to a hospital seeking a lifeline and found a doorway into skills, community, and a different way to experience the world.

We trace the journey from rock-bottom despair to a five-week program centered on dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and group work. Timothy learned how neuroplasticity makes change possible, how to separate thoughts from identity, and how to ride a wave of emotion without drowning in it. The breakthrough wasn’t a single moment but a practice: acknowledging trauma that looked like neglect rather than violence, naming an abandonment wound, and replacing black-and-white thinking with skills for distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. In the process, he found his voice—first for himself, then to advocate for someone too anxious to speak—and discovered the power of peer support, creativity, and steady boundaries.

Today he protects a small circle with clear lines, channels his message through design and podcasting, and frames healing as a DIY project: borrow what works, test it in your life, and keep going. The closing challenge is simple and radical: define happiness for yourself, then follow it with diligence. If depression feels like old jeans—predictable, worn, safe—this conversation offers a different fit: skills you can practice, language for what hurt, and a reminder that mistakes refine more than they define. Listen, reflect, and share it with someone who needs the nudge to pick up the pen and write a better page.

Some stories split life into a before and after. This conversation follows Jessica Ella who endured sexual, physical, and psychological abuse from early childhood and later uncovered repressed memories that explained years of anxiety, dissociation, and survival-mode living. We explore how grooming, terror, and mixed signals forge trauma bonds that keep victims silent and how the body often screams the truth through headaches, gut issues, vision changes, and chronic fight-or-flight long before the mind can make sense of it.

From that crucible came a relentless pursuit: find a way to heal that actually works. You’ll hear how she studied spirituality, subconscious methods, somatics, and memory processing, then fused them into a practical, four-pillar approach that targets root causes instead of symptoms. We walk through the process step by step: revisiting specific scenes to close open loops, using somatic regulation so the nervous system completes the experience, cutting energetic ties that keep the past alive, and reprogramming beliefs formed in trauma into grounded truths that support self-respect and agency. If you’ve wondered whether trauma can be complete, not just managed, this story offers a map: find the source, process it fully, and let the body know the danger has passed.

Ruby's story begins in Wales where she enjoyed a seemingly normal childhood before her world was turned upside down by family honor codes and cultural expectations. When her older sister eloped with her boyfriend, Ruby became the family's new focus of control. At just 15, she was taken to Bangladesh under the guise of a family holiday, only to discover the devastating truth – she was to be married off to restore the family's honor.

Despite her resistance, Ruby was forced to marry a man twice her age. The trauma that followed included sexual assault, isolation, and pregnancy through rape. She also contracted cytomegalovirus (CMV) from her husband, which would later affect her unborn child's development. When Ruby became severely ill, the family returned to the UK where she gave birth to a daughter with special needs.

Ruby's journey toward freedom reveals the tremendous resilience of the human spirit. After attempting suicide and feeling utterly trapped, she made daring escapes from her family's control. Though her first attempt at freedom led to another abusive relationship that lasted five years, Ruby eventually found the strength within herself to break the cycle of trauma.

At 27, she made a conscious decision to heal for herself and her children. She returned to education, studied counseling theories, and applied them to her own recovery. Through modeling and pageantry, Ruby found her voice and began using it to help others who have experienced similar trauma. Today, at 42, she describes feeling more at peace than ever before.

Ruby's powerful testimony demonstrates how one can transform unimaginable pain into purpose. Her ability to understand multiple perspectives of her trauma without excusing abusive behavior shows profound wisdom. Her message is clear: no matter how dark your circumstances, healing is possible, and your past doesn't have to define your future. Listen to Ruby's extraordinary story of survival, healing, an

Fairy shares her personal and painful journey through the troubled teen industry. For many, these facilities are sold as places for "help" or "reform," but behind their walls, children are often taken from their homes, subjected to harsh treatment, and forced into programs that can leave lasting emotional and psychological scars.

Fairy opens up about being taken from her family and sent to a facility where she faced abuse, isolation, and intense discipline. She speaks candidly about the trauma, the broken systems, and how many kids—like herself—are treated as though they need to be “fixed” instead of being supported with love and understanding. Despite the darkness, Fairy's story is one of resilience, hope, and the strength to reclaim her own voice.

Mental health is now more talked about than ever. After the paralyzing event that quarantined us all, we had a small taste of what it means to be locked up. For some, it was a time to reconnect with themselves, but for others, it was a moment of isolated torture. We may have felt caged, but is that what it truly feels like to be a prisoner?

Today on the show, Dr Kajal Sakhrani discusses mental health in US prisons. She walks us through the process of therapy for prisoners in maximum security, sheds light on sociopathy and serial killers, and shares some riveting stories.
