In it I provide a brief summary of the history of SWIFT, The type of work that is accomplished by SWIFT and the proccesses involved in a basic financial transaction. Additionally we build upon this generalization by expanding into how web3, and blockchain payment protocols wish to expand and improve upon the foundation created by SWIFT.
