(1967) Wasson Park Fountain

As you enter Fairfield from the east, Main Street and Delaware divide.  A small park and fountain greet visitors.  

The fountain was erected in 1967.  It was designed by Wasson Lawrence.  Lawrence was an artist, engineer, and historian.  He served as mayor of Fairfield for a few years and helped establish city hall, the library and the historical society.

Wasson Lawrence designed the fountain and also the pumping system necessary to spray the water into the air.  

The fountain is maintained by the city and the park is cared for by talented volunteer gardeners.   The contributions of Wasson Lawrence continue to enrich our county.
