It is frustrating when others do not see us in the same light as we see ourselves or they heard or read our communication and walked away with a meaning that was not intended. This is one reason I prefer talking with people rather than texting. I remember a manager I once had talking with me about some feedback he had received and he wanted to know what I thought about it. I proceeded to explain to him that I disagreed with what was said and why. He then told me that perception is reality and therefore, it was correct. I suppose I could have just accepted it and went on my way, but I did not. While I did not want to argue, I did want the opportunity to have a discussion with the individual and gain clarity. And to have an chance to correct the perception. Is perception important? Can we change someones perception? Join Karla as she discusses Perception is it reality? Can we change it?
