It is a fact that we are living longer and that we are healthier doing it. It is hard to believe that the life expectancy of humans was at one time less than 60 years. But to quote Bob Dylan, “...the times they are a changin’...” When I hear people getting upset because they are turning 21, 30, 40 years old, I do not get it. There was a time when people thought of growing old as a death sentence, an end of life, a moving out to pasture never to be heard from again. Well that time has passed. We are living longer, better, healthier and we are not doing it quietly. We are discovering a new found freedom and discovering new possibilities and exploring things we never imagined possible. Aging is inevitable. How we age is what we do have control of. What we can determine is how we live our lives and we we do with our gifts, talents, and the experiences we’ve had.
