Welcome to Episode 3 of BkSuga’s Tv Genre Fluidity with Krystal Ssonko. Krystal Ssonko is a 22 yr old singer-songwriter from Stamford CT. Growing up Krystal always found joy in performance and the ability to tell stories and inspire people through the arts. This love led her to join acapella, dance, and theatre groups in college as well as minoring in ethnomusicology (the study of world music). Now as a recent graduate Krystal has been preparing for the release of her first demo, titled “naive”. “Naive” focuses on the topics of self-love, loss, and feelings that often center around the experience of leaving adolescence and entering young adulthood. Krystal would describe herself as genre-fluid. She believes that oftentimes when it comes to music people limit the creative process and musical palettes of artists by labeling them too early into their career. Krystal hopes that when people hear her music they will feel validated, affirmed, and encouraged knowing they’re not alone in this journey we call life.--
