S02E05 - We chat with Australian Bodybuilder and founder of Gen-tec Nutrition, Nick Jones on all aspects of health, wellness and fitness with a look into how actors can look after themselves through balanced nutrition and fitness for the benefit of their careers.

Firstly, we learn more about Nick, as initially I thought he had no links to the acting community, but quickly found out he has a history in Adelaide for modelling and commercial work, including a small role in the classic 'Bad Boy Bubby' filmed in South Australia. We learn about Nick's upbringing in a single parent family and how a love of action movies and Arnold Schwarzenegger led Nick to the world of bodybuilding and a door opened away from the troubled streets.

Nick has a well read knowledge of health and fitness, developed through his learnings of the spiritual side of bodybuilding, and the understanding of how our lives consist of stress which causes growth, both physically and mentally.

We touch on Nick's podcast 'Inspired by Nick Jones', a podcast that interviews people about their inspiring journeys overcoming massive challenges that life has thrown them. It is a really good discussion about depression and mental health and how people can find their way out of the darkness.

And we also touch on acting, in several areas including character development by actors, drawing on the human emotions: love, hate, despair, happiness .... everything we all go through in this journey of life. We touch on rejection, such a common occurrence for actors and how to deal with that and finally, diet and exercises, specifically for actors. How to make good choices in life to stay on top of your health to the benefit of your acting career.
