The Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House in Johnson City, Tennessee, is a temporary “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously ill children throughout the Southern Appalachian region. They help hundreds of families every year who have to travel for their child's medical care, whether it is for a one day procedure or ongoing treatment.

Primarily operating through volunteers, the Ronald McDonald house provides all meals, cleaning and upkeep of the house, as well as caring for the families staying there. There are numerous opportunities for volunteers to serve.

An annual event that supports the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald house is the "Shamrock Shuffle"  - a 5K family fun race scheduled for March 18th at 4pm. To learn more about volunteering or supporting the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House, visit RMHSA.org
