MOD episodes have no shelf-life or expiration date. Since our focus is principled and always happening now - they will always in all ways reflect the moving nature of current events.
Beings Are, Humans do. Beings know, humans think. Our brain's mission is to serve our body so we can be of maximum productive and constructive use to all that are and all that is. Thoughts are designed to express reality and truth not wait till they understand it to proceed.
We diminish our human capacity to appear limited in the vain hope we can prove limited thoughts are true thus all that is possible. We choose what we think, freely. As a result, we want what we choose. Thinking things shouldn’t be as they are is to think they are not as they are. This internal effort causes major internal conflicts. Addiction is a mental health disease.
Addiction promotes the thought there is no other choice but to do the thing that is killing us. A self-induced by thought has no basis in reality and cannot be killed so killing our body with compulsive acts will not solve the problem.
Thinking about thinking causes a reflection, an image. Thoughts are imagined. To think they are true has us imagine a reflection of thought is all we are while denying the lie that is reflected. If thoughts are not true then any reflection would be a lie thus ego is born of thought, not reality or truth. Ego, like any thought or lie only appears as a problem when we think they are or can be true. To see that thought only reflects itself quickly makes thinking this is all we could be easy to see by noticing we could not be watching thoughts if we were them any more than our eyes can ever directly see our eyes. This conflict is obvious whenever we're willing to look honestly at our experience.
Dreams or nightmares appear real yet fade as quickly as we awake since they are never any more than imagined in the present. The seeming past is no different once we awake from the daydream of thinking who we are is only what we think. The past is only what we think of it in the present. It is what we think now that primarily impacts our experience since thoughts occur in immediate proximity to the brain that registers pleasure and pain. Nobody can ever get closer to our experience than what we think, we think.
Mental recovery is not repeating a new behavior but seeing that what is not true dissipates, and dis-solves as quickly as it is seen honestly rather than what we fight to think of it as. Mental recovery is undoing not redoing what we've been addicted to repeatedly hoping will become true.
Insanity is seeing and hearing things that do not exist. When we think the self we talk to and think of and up is true we get serious about what is actually a joke.
Taking insanity seriously qualifies the insane. Anyone suffering with insanity who recognizes it is sane.
Emotional sobriety is sane living.
