John has written to -his little children- in this first epistle and has been presenting them with truth so -that ye may know-. Now he expresses the reason why we are presented with truth from the Lord, so that we will come to a place that -we know-- Where we take what is presented to us, grow knowledgeable of it, and become confident in it- Our knowledge of the Savior, will produce more confidence in Him-
