Extraordinary ability is defined as “the small percentage of individuals who have risen to the very top of their field of endeavor.” For example, a chief who has invented a new dish, or a writer that has greatly influenced her type of literature, or a businessperson who has transformed her industry would be applying under the EB-1A visa.
