Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, DeTray moved to Ohio and was swept up by the increasing rise of American psychedelia in 1960's. He would soon tap direct into the main line in San Francisco and quickly found himself wanting to start a band and participate in the rise of the movement.  Dodging the ridiculous draft of the Vietnam war, DeTray fled to Canada where he would eventually start the Ant Trip Ceremony and the rest is history! It was a real TRIP speaking with DeTray about his life growing up in Kenya, moving back to the states and starting one of the coolest underground bands of the 60's and eventually joining a cult!
