To celebrate World Soil Day on December 5, Alice Butler interviews Dr Balwinder Singh, anAgronomist and Simulation Modeler Scientist working at DPIRD.

Dr Singh  discusses his background, what lead him to a career in agriculture and his pathway to DPIRD.

He is currently using modern research tools, like crop simulation models, to evaluate WA soils and agricultural systems for future challenges.

The outcome of his research will help farmers better understand crop constraints and provide strategies for yield gaps in WA farming systems.
