Sports have always been part of Greg Brewer’s life. In addition to joining the Alabama High School Athletic Association in 1985, from 1980-2001 Greg was the official basketball scorer for the University of Alabama Sports Information Department. The Florence native was also a former high school official in football, baseball and basketball, and for many years was the director of officials. Greg helped develop the AHSAA officiating program that’s currently in place. Officiating is a lost profession that Greg is helping to revive. Greg shared some awesome insight into what it's like to be an official and how someone can get involved in officiating. Thanks, Greg, for spending some time with Bernard today!
