كَم الساعَة؟ ما هُوَ الوَقت؟ كَم الساعَة الآن؟ يَتَحَدَّثُ الناس كَثيراً عَن الوَقت، و لَكِن ما هُوَ الوَقت؟ الوَقت هُوَ ما تَحدُثُ فيهِ الأَشياء. الوَقت هُوَ المُدَّه الَّتي تَحدُثُ بِها الأَشيَاء. وِحدات الوَقت صَفِّق بِسُرعَة أَربَع مَرّات مُتَتالِيَة. مَضَت ثانِيَة عِندَما كُنتَ تُصَفِّق. سِتّونَ ثانِيَة يُكَوِّنونَ دَقيقَة. سِتّونَ دَقيقَة يُكَوِّنونَ ساعَة. أَربَعَ و عِشرونَ ساعَة يُكَوِّنونَ يَوْماً. نُتابِع الوَقت بِاستِخدام الساعات. فَلنَتَعَلَّم كَيْفَ نَستَخدِم الساعَة لِنَعرِفَ الوَقت. ساعات تَقليدِيَّة الساعات التَقليدِيَّة بِها أَرقام في شَكل دائِرَة. العَقرَبان يُشيرانِ إلى أَرقام مُختَلِفَة. العَقرَب القَصير يُشيرُ إلى الساعات، و العَقرَب الطَوْيل يُشيرُ إلى الدَقائِق. الأَرقام تُشيرُ إلى الوَقت. هَل العَقرَب القَصير و الطَوْيل عَلى نَفس الخَط؟ إذاً فَالساعة بَدَأَت لِتَوِّها. الأَرقام عَلى الساعَة تُشيرُ أَيْضاً إلى الدَقائِق. كُلَّ رَقَم يُمَثِّل خَمس دَقائق. كُل خَط قَصير بَيْن الأَرقام يُمَثِّل دَقيقَة. عِد كُل خَمس دَقائِق في الساعَة. عِد بِنَفس الطَريقَة نِقاط الأَسهُم. عَقرَب الدَقائِق يُمَثِّل كَم مِن الوَقت مَرَّ بَعد الساعَة. هَذِهِ الساعَة تُشيرُ إلى عَشر دَقائِق بَعد الرابِعَة. الساعَة الرابِعَة و عَشر دَقائِق. يُمكِنُكَ أَن تَكتُب الوَقت بِهَذا الشَكل: 4:10 ما الوَقت الَّذي تُشيرُ إلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الساعات. أَحيْاناً يَكونُ عَقرَب الدَقائِق عَلى الناحِيَة اليُسرى مِن الساعَة. حينَها نَتَكَلَّم عَن الدَقائِق المُتَبَقِّيَة حَتّى الساعَة المُقبِلَة. عِد الدَقائِق إلى الوَراء مِن رَأس الساعَة. عِد نِقاط الأَسهُم بِنَفس الطَريقَة. هَذِهِ الساعَة تُظهِرُ عَشرَ دَقائِق قَبل الساعَة الثالِثَة. الساعَة الثالِثَة إلّا عَشر دَقائِق. هَذا يَعني أَنَّهُ قَد تَبَقّى عَشر دَقائِق حَتّى الساعَة الثالِثَة. هَل تُريدُ أَن تَكتُبَ الوَقتَ بِالأَرقام؟ عِد الدَقائِق مِن رَأس الساعَة. عِد نِقاط الأَسهُم بِنَفس الطَريقَة. الساعَة الثالِثَة و خَمسونَ دَقيقَة. فَكِّر في الساعَة كَأَنَّها فَطيرَة مَقطوعَة إلى نِصفَيْن. كُلُّ نِصفٍ ثَلاثونَ دَقيقَة. كَم الساعَة؟ الآن الفَطيرَة مُقَطَّعَة إلى أَربَع قِطَع مُتَساوِيَة. كُلَّ قِطعَة خَمس عَشَرَةَ دَقيقَة كُل قِطعَة رُبع فَطيرَة تَأَمَّل هَذِهِ الساعات. هَل تَرى كَيْفَ أَنَّ كُلّ وَقت لَهُ عِدَّةَ مُسَمَّيْات؟ ماذا يَحدُث عِندَما يُشيرُ العَقرَبان إلى الثانِيَةِ عَشَر؟ قَد يَكونُ الظُهر أَوْ مُنتَصَف اللَيْل. الساعات الرَقمِيَّة الساعات الرَقمِيَّة لَيْسَ لَها عَقارِب. إنَّها تُظهِرُ الوَقت بِالأَرقام. سَوْفَ تَرى نَوْعا الساعات المُختَلِفان. و لِذَلِكَ فَإنَّهُ مِن المُهِم أَن تَعرِف كَيْفَ تَقرَأ الوَقت.

WHAT TIME IS IT? WHAT IS TIME? What time is it right now? People talk about time a lot, but what is time? Time is when things happen. Time is also how long it takes for things to happen. UNITS OF TIME Clap your hands fast four times in a row. One second passed while you were clapping. Sixty seconds make up a minute. Sixty minutes make up an hour. Twenty-four hours make up a day. We keep track of time with clocks. Let’s learn how to use a clock to tell time. ANALOG CLOCKS Analog clocks have numbers in a circle. The two hands point to different numbers. The short hand tells the hour, and the long hand tells the minutes. The numbers are for the hour. Are the short and long hands lined up? Then it’s right on the hour. The numbers on a clock are also for minutes. Each number is five minutes. Each little line between the numbers is one minute. Count by fives for all the minutes in an hour. Count the same way the arrow points. The minute hand tells how much time has passed after an hour. This clock shows ten minutes after four o’clock. أَمان الدَرّاجات قِيَادَةِ دَرّاجَة هَل تُحِبُّ قِيْادَةَ الدَرّاجَة؟ قِيَادَةِ الدَرّاجات مُمتِعَة جِدّاً. فَهِيَ تُساعِدُكَ عَلى الوُصول إلى الأَماكِن الَّتي تُريدُ الذَهابَ إلَيْها. و تُساعِدُ أَيْضاً أَن تَبقى صِحِّيّاً و قَوِيّاً. مِن المُهِم أَن تَكونَ آمِناً عِندَما تَقودُها. الحَوْادِث وْارِدَة، و السائِقين يَتَأَذّونَ أَحيْاناً. اِبقِ عَيْنَيْكَ مَفتوحَتان و ذِهنَكَ وْاعِيْاً. اِتَّبِع نَصائِح هَذا الكِتاب لِتَكونَ في أَمان. تَعَلَّم القِيَادَة هَل بَدَأتَ تَعَلُّم القِيَادَة لِتَوِّك؟ تَمَرَّن في حَديقَة أَو مَكانٍ خالٍ. تَعَلَّم أَن تُوْازِن نَفسَكَ و تَقودُ و تُبَدِّل. عِندَما تَتَحَسَّن، تَمَرَّن حَوْلَ أَشيْاء. تَحَكَّم في الدَرّاجَة عِندَما تَمُرُّ فَوْقَ الحُفَر في الرَصيف. حافِظ عَلى تَوْازُنِك عِندَما تَقودُ حَوْلَ صَناديق القُمامَة و العَوْاميد و الكَراسي. اِحذَر حَوْلَ المارَّة. اِنتَبِه لِقائِدي الدَرّاجات الآخَرين أَيْضاً. الأَمان حَوْل السَيّارات أَنتَ الآن قائِد أَفضَل. أَنتَ الآن جاهِز أَن تَقودَ بَعيداً عَن بَيْتِك. كُن حَذِراً حَوْلَ السَيّارات. اِبتَعِد عَن الشَوْارِع المُزدَحِمَة. السَيّارات كَثيراً ما تَتَحَرَّك بِسُرعَة. السائِقين في العادَة لا يَرونَ قائِدي الدَرّاجات. اِتَّبِع إشارات المُرور و العَلامات الإرشادِيَّة. تَوَقَّف عِندَ كُلِّ إشارَةِ مُرور. تَوَقَّف و انظُر إلى جانِبَيْك قَبلَ أَن تَمُرَّ دائِماً. لا تَمُرَّ إلّا مِن عِندَ التَقاطُعات. تَأَكَّد مِن تَوَقُّف كُلّ السَيّارات. اِمشِ مَع دَرّاجَتِك في التَقاطُعات المُزدَحِمَة. تَحَرَّك في خَطِّ مُتَوْاصِل مَع قائِدي الدَرّاجات الآخَرين. فَكِّر بِنَفسِك مَتى تَتَحَرَّك و مَتى تَتَوَقَّف. لا تَتَّبِع الآخَرين مِن دون تَفكير. في أَيْ طَريق تَتَحَرَّك السَيّارات؟ قُد في نَفس إتِّجاه السَيّارات. لا تَقُد قَريباً مِن السَيّارات المُتَوَقِّفَة. فَمِن المُمكِن أَن يَفتَح باب سَيّارَة فَجأَة. اِستَخدِم يَدَيْك. اِمسِك بِالمِقوَد عِندَما تَقود. يَد وْاحِدَة جَيِّدَة، و لَكِن يَدان في نَفس الوَقت أَفضَل في مُعظَم الأَحيْان. اِستَخدِم إشارات بِيَدَيْك عِندَما تَنعَطِف. ماذا تَرتَدي اِرتَدي خوذَة في جَميعِ الأَوْقات سَتَحمي الخوذَة رَأسَك إذا وَقَعت. تَأَكَّد مِن أَن تَجِدَ خوذَة مُناسِبَة لِمَقاسِك. قُفّازات الدَرّاجات فِكرَة جَيِّدَة أَيْضاً. فَهُم يُساعِدونَك عَلى الاِمساك بِالمِقوَد بِقُوَّة. اِرتَدي أَلوْاناً زاهِيَة كَيْ يَراكَ السائِقون. لا تَقُد دَرّاجَتَك في اللَّيْل. فإنَّهُ مِن الصَعب عَلى السائِقين أَن يَرَوْنَكَ. جاهِز لِلقِيْادَة قُد مَع أَصدِقائِك أَوْ عائِلَتِك. أَنتَ في أَمان عِندَما تَقودُ مَع الآخَرين. أَنتَ الآن جاهِز لِأَن تَستَمتِع بِقِيْادَةِ الدَرّاجَة. قُد بِأَمان و استَمتِع بِوَقتِك!

كَيْفَ تُجري مُقابَلَة ما هِيَ المُقابَلَة؟ هَل تَوَدُّ أَن تَعرِفَ أَكثَر عَن شَخص أَوْ شَيْءٍ ما؟ طَريقَة لَطيفَة أَن تَعرِفَ هِيَ أَن تُجري مُقابَلَة مَع أََحَدِهِم. المُقابَلَة عِبارَة عَن اِجتِماع نَسأَلُ فيهِ الأَسئِلَة. المُقابَلات سَهلَة و مُمتِعَة! مَن تُقابِل هَل تُريدُ أَن تَتَعَرَّف عَلى جَد أَوْ جار بِشَكل أَفضَل؟ مِن المُحتَمَل أَن تَتَعَرَّف عَلى مُدَرِّس أَوْ صَديق. مُعظَم الناس يُحِبّونَ أَن يُشارِكوا حَيَاتَهُم. أَسئِلَة مُمكِن أَن تَسأَلَها فَلنَعتَبِر أَنَّكَ تُريدُ أَن تَتَعَرَّفَ عَلى جِدِّك. يُمكِنُكَ أَن تَسأَلَهُ أَسئِلَة عَن مُختَلَف مَراحِل حَيَاتِه. في مُقتَبَل العُمر 1-في أَيِّ سَنَة وُلِدت؟ 2-أَيْنَ وُلِدت؟ 3-هَل شَبَبتَ في المَدينَة أَم في الريف؟ 4-هَل كانَ عِندَكَ حَيَوَانات أَليفَة؟ 5-ما أَكثَر ما تَتَذَكَّرَه عِندَما كُنتَ في مِثلِ عُمري؟ الشَباب 1-ماذا كُنتَ تَعمَل؟ 2-كّيْفَ قابَلتَ جَدَّتي؟ 3-في كَم مَكانٍ عِشت؟ 4-أَيْنَ ذَهَبتَ في عُطلَتِكَ المُفَضَّلَة؟ الآن 1-كَم عُمرُك الآن؟ 2-ما هِيَ هِوْاياتِك المُفَضَّلَة؟ 3-ما الأَشيْاء الَّتي تَفخَر بِها؟ 4-ما الأَشيْاء الثَلاثَة الَّتي تُحِبُّها في حَيْاتِك؟ اِطلُب مِن جَدِّك أَن يُحضِرَ صورَة قَديمَة و يُخبِرُكَ عَنها. أَيْضاً اِطلُب مِنهُ أَن يَجلِب لَك شَيْئاً عَن حَيْاتِك سَيُذهِلُك. ماذا أَجلِب تَقابَل مَع جَدِّك مِن أَجل المُقابَلَة إذا اِستَطَعت. إنَّها طَريقَة جَيِّدَة لإِجراء المُقابَلَة. اِجلِب كَرّاس و قَلَم لِتَأخُذ مُلاحَظات. تَذَكَّر أَن تَجلِبَ قائِمَةَ أَسئِلَة! اِجلِب كاميرا و وَسيلَة لِتُسَجِّل المُقابَلَة أَيْضاً. سَتُريدُ أَن تَسمَعَها لاحِقاً. خِلال المُقابَلَة كُن في مَوعِدِك أَوْ قَبلَه مِن أَجل المُقابَلَة. اِشكُر جَدَّك لِمُقابَلَتِه لَك. اِسأَل عَن التَفاصيل لِتُصبِح المُقابَلَة مُشَوِّقَة أَكثَر. خُذ الكَثير مِن المُلاحَظات خِلال حَديث جَدِّك. تَكَلَّم إذا لَم تَفهَم شَيْئاً ما. اِشكُر جَدَّك مَرَّة أُخرى في نِهايَةِ المُقابَلَة. بَعد المُقابَلَة خُذ مُلاحَظات أُخرى بَعدَما تَعودُ إلى المَنزِل. و بِذَلِك سَتَتَذَكَّر أَكثَر عَن المُقابَلَة. اِستَمِع لِلتَسجيل مَرَّة أُخرى لاحِقاً لِتَتَذَكَّر أَكثَرَ و أَكثَر. اِكتُب المُقابَلة كَتَقرير. شارِكها مَع عائِلَتِك و أَصدِقائِك. ماذا تَعَلَّمتَ مِن إجراءِ المُقابَلَة.

Interviews are easy and fun! WHO TO INTERVIEW Do you want to know a grandparent or neighbor better? Maybe you want to get to know your teacher or a friend. Most people are happy to share about their lives. QUESTIONS TO ASK Let’s say you want to learn about your grandpa. You can ask him questions about different times in his life. EARLY LIFE 1. What year were you born? 2. Where were you born? 3. Did you grow up in the city or country? 4. Did you have any pets? 5. What do you remember most from when you were my age? BECOMING A GROWN-UP 1. What was your job? 2. How did you meet Grandma? 3. How many different places have you lived? 4. Where did you go on your favorite vacation? NOW 1. How old are you now? 2. What are your favorite hobbies? 3. What are you most proud of? 4. What are three things you love about your life? Ask your grandpa to bring an old picture to tell you about. Also ask him to bring something about his life that will surprise you. WHAT TO BRING Get together with your grandpa for the interview if you can. It’s a good way to do the interview.
