Pattern of the 7 Letters:
-Jesus describes a characteristic of Himself.
-Jesus provides a word of commendation (except Laodicea).
-Jesus provides a word of rebuke (except Smyrna/Philadelphia).
-Jesus provides a word of promise.

1. Jesus wants a LOVING church (Letter to Ephesus)
2. Jesus wants a COURAGEOUS church (Letter to Smyrna)
3. Jesus wants a TRUTH-PROCLAIMING church (Letter to Pergamum)
4. Jesus wants a DISCERNING church (Letter to Thyatira)
5. Jesus wants an ACTIVE church (Letter to Sardis)
6. Jesus wants a FAITHFUL church (Letter to Philadelphia)
7. Jesus wants a SPIRITUALLY DESPERATE church (Letter to Laodicea)
