Someone who identifies as transgender does not feel at home in his or her body. If you think about it, sooner or later none of us do. Our bodies, imperfect since the fall of humanity, are not what they were created to be, and not yet what they are redeemed to be. This doesn’t mean that we can reconstruct them. In fact, all attempts to change who we are into someone we might erroneously think is a better “me,” will fail.

In the Transfiguration of our Lord, we see that Jesus is not only God Himself in the flesh, but also the perfect human being. He comes today by His Spirit at work through His Word to transform both our bodies and souls with His perfect body and blood given and shed for us for the forgiveness of our sins. God’s transfiguration of you in Christ will be complete on the day of the resurrection of your body for life everlasting in the glory of God.
