God talks a lot about money. God mentions money in over 2000 verses in the Bible. That makes it the second most mentioned topic in the Bible. The first is God Himself.
God mentions money so much because it’s an important topic to Him.
He knows it’s super tempting to love money, to love ourselves, and to use money to love ourselves.
We're told to, "Treat yourself! Practice self-care!" and that we have to buy a lot in order to be happy. That's the world's message, not God's message.
Scripture: Matthew 6:24: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
We’re told by the world to spend on ourselves ALL the time. It was like that all the way back from Abraham to Moses to King David to Jesus to now.
But that's not what God wants for us. God knows that spending lavishly on ourselves won't make us happy.
God wants our HEART. He wants our full devotion.
God thinks money should have its place as a tool in our lives.
Scriptures: Psalm 24:1: The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.
We're told to use money as a tool, to save, to be wise with God's wealth, and to spend it on other people.
Let's talk about it and let that really sink in with some key scriptures.
