AI is making output cheaper, faster and easier. So where does human value go next? In this episode of The Disrupted Factory, I speak with Evan Schwartz about one of the most important shifts happening in business today: the move from output-based thinking to outcome-based thinking. We talked about why AI can produce more documents, more answers, more reports, more emails and more content than ever before, but why more output does not automatically mean more value. Evan also tells us how he moved from gaming and software development into business systems, ERP, AI, circular economy technology and digital transformation. What stood out to me is that his real passion is not just building software, it's creating value. That became the core of our conversation. We discussed why so many digital transformation projects fail, why businesses need to own their own journey and why leaders must speak to the people doing the actual work before making decisions from the top. We also looked at AI through a manufacturing lens. On a factory floor, machines produce outputs, but people still guide the process, check the inputs, watch the dashboards and make sure the final result meets the required standard. That may be where the future of work is heading. AI will produce more output, but humans still need to guide the outcome! If your business is exploring AI, digital transformation, smart factories, manufacturing technology, or process improvement, this conversation is worth watching.
