What is courage and why is it so difficult for us to push through our comfort zones and exercise courage so that we can create lives that are aligned?

Elise and I have decided to use this season to tackle the concept and application of courage so that we can share the value of taking courageous action in life.

Elise starts out by explaining that courage is hard to come by because we all get stuck in ruts, similar to those that we create snow sledding. At some points are our ruts get so deep that it is hard to move the sled or our life direction out of the groove without have to exert a lot of extra force. This "force" or discomfort can represent the courage that is needed to make changes in our lives when staying in our rut feels so much easier no matter how unhappy we are with our current situation.

We also discuss that learning and growing is what living is all about. Elise even shares a story where she tells her niece that when you stop learning your die... we decide that that means you die inside.

Courage comes in many shapes and sizes and is incredibly personal. It takes tons of self-awareness to motivate to make changes, try new things, step out of our comfort zone...this self-awareness fuels courage. We discuss our own personal stories and how we feel about our own courage and though find ourselves underselling our own courage stories ie. relationships, solo wanders and new adventures-ventures.

The rest of this season will include many interviews with people demonstrating their own personal courage and those who help others develop courage. We hope you enjoy all of the awesome come to you and we hope that you are inspired to be more courageous in your own life when you decide to mix it up!

2 big take aways from this episode are monitoring your own limiting beliefs and the beliefs and influences of others. These 2 factors can make a huge affect and effect on the decisions your make and the directions you take. Courage is pushing back and challenging some of these beliefs to find your own truths.

We are here to support you on this journey so always feel free to reach out and allow us to hold you accountable to your courage goals and the course corrections you may be dabble in!
