Welcome to the tenth in a series called 'Songs for the Journey'.  After a three-month break we're back into the second half of this series.

Psalms 120-134 are known as Psalms of Ascent and were written to be sung by a pilgrim community.  A pilgrimage is an in-between place, often an uncomfortable place, both a place beset with danger and one imbued with life and hope and faith.

These Psalms offer us a unique road-map for our souls.  Each in turn saying: "this is where I was when I moved again."  Each of the Psalms offers to connect with your soul and help you move on again in the Christian life.

We recommend Eugene Peterson's book 'A Long Obedience in the Same Direction' to go deeper.
