Paul writes to the Galatian church, in a time of turmoil, that they are to recognise and honour the work of the Spirit - and the outcome of the Spirit's work? The fruit of the Spirit, he says, is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
