The Spanish Daughter is a historical novel that blends family drama, dangerous mystery, romance, and the real-life history of the coastal town known as the “birthplace of cacao.” In the novel, we meet a Spanish chocolate artisan named Puri who learns she’s inherited her father’s cocoa estate in Ecuador. So she sets out with her husband Cristóbal to claim her birthright. However, when she arrives, she finds herself investigating who killed her husband, who’s behind the plot to kill her, and searching for the truth of her father’s legacy.
Today on the podcast, Victoria speaks with Lorena Hughes about her latest novel, The Spanish Daughter, her inspiration and hopes for the novel, learn more about her reading and writing life, plus lots more.
