Title:  Will Open RAN have a wider adoption compared to traditional models - Find out who are the members of O-RAN alliance
Category:  Telecom
Region: Global Key points covered:  RAN contributes at least 60% of the TCO for a radio network and any system that offers flexibility to maintain heterogeneous blocks through an open system, certainly has significant potential for cost optimization. In line with expectations of telecom operators for a more diverse and interoperable ecosystem, O-RAN (Open RAN) alliance have come up with a set of industry-wide standards for RAN interfaces. These are expected to facilitate interoperability not only between different vendor RAN hardware equipment, but also between vendor hardware and third party software – the result – greater flexibility of the network at a lower cost. O-RAN alliance has Vodafone, Sprint, Verizon as notable members.
