That’s the phrase that people are using to describe the Los Angeles Rams’ attitude this season after they signed Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday. This comes after trading for linebacker Von Miller at the trade deadline for a second and a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. During training camp, they traded with New England for RB Sony Michel to help back up Darrell Henderson who was stepping into the starting lineup to replace Cam Akers who tore his Achilles in July. That trade only cost them a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft. Early in the off-season, they traded QB Jared Goff along with a 2021 third-round pick, and their first-round picks in the 2022 and 2023 NFL drafts to Detroit for QB Matthew Stafford. Back in 2020, they traded away their 2022 fourth-round pick and WR Brandin Cooks to Houston for a second-round pick this year (Van Jefferson). Overall, the Rams now have only four picks in the entire 2022 NFL draft – a compensatory third-round pick, their own fifth and seventh-round picks and a seventh-round pick from the Miami Dolphins.

The Rams will end up with additional compensatory picks but have effectively traded away almost all of their 2022 draft picks. Many people are calling the 2022 NFL draft class weak, but the Rams and GM Les Snead are clearly thinking more about a run at the Super Bowl than offering their opinion on the quality of the players available in the draft. The Rams want to duplicate what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did last season and hoist the Lombardi Trophy after a Super Bowl victory on their home field.
