Amanda Iheme is an architecture photographer and psychotherapist living and working in Lagos, Nigeria. She studied at the University of Cape Coast for a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and received a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Swansea University. She currently runs her private practice called Ndidi while working as an artist.
In this episode Amanda Iheme speaks about her refusal to succumb to a victim mentality, knowing when to show up as a therapist not an artist, the anxiety of working and travelling with the rising insecurity and how to call BS from a mile away. Each episode of this podcast features a conversation with a Nigerian artist or art worker about their lived experiences and histories concluding in their instructions for rest and wellbeing for artists.
You can find Amanda Iheme's illustrated guide for rest at our website arestguide.com and installed during the IDFA Doc Lab exhibition in Amsterdam in November 2021.
