The bible tells us that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick." It is so easy to misplace our hope in things that cannot make us happy, or in things that satisfy only temporarily. But God instructs us to take our pain, our weakest moments, and our bad attitudes, and speak to them that our hope remains in God's promises.
How often do we find ourselves walking around complaining that we aren't satisfied, and that things in life seem hopeless? In times of complaining and in times of real sorrow and trouble, God's hope is unshakable if we keep our attention on Him. That is why the bible tells us that our Hope in God can never be taken from us: It depends on God Himself, who is perfect, not on temporary things that waste away and cannot fulfill us.
Where have you been placing your hope? Have you allowed the things of this world to steal it away? Or are you trusting God to carry you through, even when circumstances are challenging and your attitude is stressed? Pastor Rich has just the right word for you today.
