Forget monkeys and typewriters, I realized with a start, we should be asking how long it would take monkeys π΅π΅ to create a cirque de soleil show. πͺπͺπ€‘
I was staring out my window at a bunch of kids in the schoolyard across the street. A bunch of tires had been delivered earlier this week, and they'd spent their recesses doing tire races. Hoarding tires. Building forts.
A few days later, they started sitting and bouncing on the tires like they were riding ponies. π
All stuff I would have expected.

Now, a few days after that, they'd hooked the tires on the top of poles, and were hanging off of them while someone else pushing them around the pole.
They were spinning. Fast. In some cases nearly horizontally.
Acrobats doing acrobatics. π«
They looked like the children of cirque de soleil dancers.
And it had only taken a few days and some creativity to get there.
The earlier games were predictable, but they kept playing and came up with new games as they played.
Play was the secret to accessing their creativity and creating something new out of what they had.
