Welcome to episode five of the Outside & Active Podcast, where hope to inspire you to make the most of the great outdoors.
On this episode, I’m excited to talk to John Beattie from Move Better Run Better.
This time of year can be hard to get out and run, walk, cycle or whatever your activity of choice is when it’s dark, cold and wet. On this episode with John, we peel back the why on what helps you to stay motivated and get outside and active this winter.
John would like to invite you to join the upcoming Move Better Run Better free 5-Day Challenge, which will reveal How Marathon Runners Can Start To Reduce The Risk Of Injuries By Incorporating Strength And Conditioning.
Injuries are horrible – no matter where you are with your running. This challenge will teach you how to incorporate S&C properly and consistently into your training such that you can massively reduce the risk of injuries ruining your running
The challenge starts on 31st January and you can see all the info and sign up using this link https://www.reduceriskofinjuries.com/RunningShowChallenge which we’ll also share in the show notes for easy access.
About John
When John was growing up, he needed something that he could use to get out of his very sporty brothers shadow with. After trying many different sports, why not give running a go he thought?
John decided to enter the Great South Run 10-mile race, and as a 16-year-old with no formal running training ran a time of 59 minutes, finishing 75th out of 10,000 runners.
That was it… He was immediately hooked. To cut a long story short, running has been his life ever since. With highs of representing England and Great Britain, and lows of horrible injuries, or being wheelchaired away from his first marathon – it’s safe to say John has been through it all.
Since turning passion into profession and forming ‘Move Better Run Better team’, John and his team have coached hundreds of runners around the world to smash PBs, avoid and reduce injuries, and achieve things they previously thought beyond them.
