Before I got into fitness I would work 6-5 most days tiling, on rainy days I would be in a factory packing boxes or cleaning up the warehouse, fixing displays etc.
I would come home and barely have any energy to hang out with mates. I would literally have mates come over at 6pm and I would be asleep on the lounge.
I was not a morning person.
While I grew up playing sports I was not an athlete.I was not always driven, I had no idea about nutrition or training however I was a decent drinker (haha)
Clients come to me and say I’m not a morning person.
I can’t lose weight, I’ve tried everything.I’m too tired after work.
I’ve been there too. I’ve gone to the gym confused and had no idea what to do, or what machine to use, I’ve done a lot of diets and blamed every single one of them.
Change is uncomfortable, I hated getting up at 5am and training, I didn’t want to go to work after then go to tafe at night, I didn’t want to stop going out every weekend but I knew if I didn’t change nothing would change for me.
I was tired of being tired.
The reason why I’m writing this is because I was talking to a younger kid this morning who has ambition and is seeking change but its uncomfortable not only for him but for his circle of friends.
Change is very lonely, not many people will understand it because you’re going against the pack, they don’t have to get it because what they want won’t fulfil you in 10 years.
I feel deep down people want to change but they’re scared of what other people will think about them changing, so they would rather stay the same, do the same things just to keep these ‘friends’ happy.
If you really want to change you can change. 12 years ago I was a completely different human and I’ve still got a lonnnngg way to go.If you’re unhappy you’re not stuck.
