For this episode, I had the pleasure to talk with Kari Eloranta and Sally Gibson, teachers at the Mounds View Area Learning Center in Shoreview, Minnesota. The Mounds View School District serves roughly 12,000 students, and the Area Learning Center is an alternative program for students who need additional credits to graduate.  During our conversation, Kari and Sally described what makes the Area Learning Center unique, the relationships and trust that exist between staff and students and the ongoing commitment to professional learning by the staff.
