The knowledge that God, the creator of the universe, would do this for us it too wonderful for David to understand. He does not seem to doubt that this is possible, or even that it is the reality. He simply accepts that this kind of knowledge is too high and that he cannot attain it. There are many parts of God that are wonderful to ponder, but often difficult, or even impossible, to understand.
