Leaving the comfort of a successful corporate career in technology is no easy task but neither is living a life that doesn’t let you live your purpose. After years following the path she thought she was supposed to, Neelam Patel found herself inspired to read her poetry at an open mic night in New York City. That night she knew her creative side needed fulfillment and creating was the path for her. She soon left her career to begin her true journey as an artist. In her debut book, a collection of poems, Burning it Down Dancing in the Rubble, Neelam Patel shares her struggle of facing her emotions and how that struggle has helped her improve her life and art. She also shares how she continues to find inspiration, especially from poet Amanda Gordon. Listen to this episode of the Creator Community Podcast to hear Neelam’s journey of emotional struggles, getting help and finding HER own way to thrive as a creator.
