Total When i started playing football at a junior level i was a defender or a goalkeeper and i used to love watching you and tony coton play. * Colin Hendry match worn First Division City debut shirt...worn 18th November 1989 v Nottingham Forest.... would be be voted man of the match in a 0-3 home defeat.
started as a striker and moved to defender
I'm very interested in the squads while Colin was with us. Take a look, Lake, Hughes, Brightwell, White, Hinchcliffe - all home grown. How good were those players? Did you see Lake becoming an all time great?
The older fans were gutted when Kendall left for Everton. Though Reid did well for us there's this feeling we might have really done something under Howard. Does Hendry agree? Think he might because he was a Kendall signing.
Cliche and I know professionals get asked all the time but of course would like to know best players he played with and against too.
— Facebook * Dan Halifax Name 5 players you’ve played with that you would want on the ultimate night out. It’s a 10 pint minimum
Dan Halifax After being named player of the year in 1990 he fell out of favour with Peter Reid. What went wrong and was this a blessing in disguise as he then went on to win the Premier League with Blackburn?
Kurt Wilby I always thought that it would have been an excellent pairing Hendry and Curle , utilising the aerial ability & power of Colin and the speed & guile of Curle. I am sure that Reid held a grudge against him only ever appeared to play him as a last resort or up front desperately trying to save a point
Dave Roberts - Colin was lucky enough to be at Maine Road with several FA Youth Cup Winners. What are you thoughts on them and us older fans feel that Paul Lake was going to be a world beater. Was he the best you saw in your time at City?
Andy Peter Duart-DeMoncey I’ve just read Peter Reid’s book and be actually admits that selling Hendry was a mistake.
Graeme Coutts Kynoch Park or Maine Road?
Who was your best manager? of your career
If he could go back to Euro 96, would he consider just cleaning Gazza out and take the booking?
How does it feel to have won more Premier League winners medals than Steven Gerrard?
Do you keep in touch with any of the city squad you played with?
