I am beginning to find that the biggest cost to owning any gadget comes in the form of accessory replacements. How often have you had to replace headphones, chargers and cables for synchronizing data? I would say a fair few of you have done this at least once. The life span of an accessory is directly tied to how well it was made, how much you paid for it and how well you treat it.

Let me explain it this way, how many of you out there have an iOS device, if bought in last 2 years you are using a lightning cable. One of the most costly smartphone cables around. Though I accept this cable does a lot more than charge and sync data, it does it very quickly. This is still no justification for Apple to charge such prices. In the UK Apple store it cost £15 to buy either the 0.5 or 1 meter lightning cable. Why are these the same price? Surely the smaller should cost less? These prices do not include any wall socket unit for charging, just the cable. I can get past that but only if the wall socket unit did not cost the same as the cable, £15. They should not be the same. One must be cheaper than the other, they cannot be the same for Apple to make in terms of cost, so why are we getting ripped off?

i feel very strongly that for the money we spend on our gadgets we should be getting better value out of the accessories we need to run them. Are we at present, sometimes yes, but other times not really. It has been getting under my cheesy foreskin this need to spend insane amounts of money to get just the right type of accessory for my needs without breaking the bank. It should be easier than this.
