Dracula by Bram Stoker chapter 21, narrated by Isaac Birchall

In his final minutes, Renfield admits to the men that Dracula often visited him at the asylum, promising to give him strength. Renfield remarks when Mina visited her, he noticed that she was very pale and he grew furious at the realisation that Dracula has been visiting her too. So on that night, when Dracula came to visit Renfield attacked him, but was burned by his eyes, and flung to the floor where the count proceeded to beat him against the floor. The men leave Renfield’s body and run upstairs to the Harkers’ room, and break the door down after finding it locked. Inside they find Johnathan unconscious on the floor, and Mina, in a trance with he lips pressed to a wound in the count’s chest. The count retreats at the advance of Van Helsing with a Sacred Wafer. The men rush to check on Mina and Johnathan, but Quincy Morris runs outside to chase the count: on his return he says that a bat was flying away from Carfax. After the couple regain consciousness, Mina says that she awoke to find Johnathan on the floor, and the count stepping out of the mist. He threatened to murder Johnathan if she made a sound. He drank from her throat, saying that it was not the first time, then after opening a wound in his chest, forced her to drink from him. Mina then falls into hysterics, crying « god pity me »
