Welcome to the Second Chance Podcast brought to you by Second Chance Rehabilitation Ranch. I'm your host, Michael Parker. I'm a Marine veteran turned cowboy and mental health advocate. On the Second Chance Podcast, we saddle up with some incredible veterans, first responders and mental health advocates as they guide us through the rodeo we call life. Listen as they share about the events that bucked them off and what gave them the courage to hop back on.

Today, we are joined by retired police officer Chris Hoyer, who is a protector, survivor, and advocate for mental, physical, and emotional wellness. After 20 plus years as a street cop, facing some of the worst scores imaginable, he has now turned his focus to public speaking and helping the law enforcement community prepare for the traumas that come with the job. He has spoken to thousands, including first responders, mental health professionals, and various professional entities sharing his story and hopes to saving lives. After honorably retiring, he resides in San Diego where he now runs his own training and consulting company. He is also the author of "When That Day Comes".

Listen as Chris shares what led him to join law enforcement along with his experiences, good and bad, his struggles, what saved him, and the incredible work he is doing to help the next generation of law enforcement officers!
