John Lewis joined the Semmes Murphey Clinic in February 2002 as Chief Operating Officer and transitioned into his current role of Chief Executive Officer in August 2009. John began his public accounting career with the Price Waterhouse audit group. He then held various senior leadership roles in Finance, Information Technology, and Project Management in several industries, including manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. John is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Information Technology Professional, a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, and certified in IT Project Management. John holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Patterson School of Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration from Christian Brothers University. His current and previous community activities include service as President of the Porter-Leath Books from Birth Board (Imagination Library), Past-President of the National Neurosurgery Executives’ Resource and Value Education Society (NERVES), Executive Board Member of the American Heart Association, Board Member for the Memphis Library Foundation and Past Senior Warden and Current Endowment Committee Chair at Church of the Holy Communion.
