Did God give up His One and Only Son for the world? What did God lose in order to gain the world? What did God sacrifice? Why was Jesus born? To give himself up for the world or to offer his self to the world?

And what about those of us that choose to follow him? What are we sacrificing if we as Jim Elliot said 'give up what we cannot keep in order to gain what we cannot lose.'?

The contents of this episode demonstrate that the crucifixion of Jesus was NOT a sacrifice. And that in order to follow Jesus, no sacrifice whatsoever is required of us. Yes, this is the exact reverse of what most of us have been taught. But then again, when the teachings of Jesus are properly understood, they turn the ways of the world upside down.
