Next we talk about seeing - just the ability to see - and how this is fundamental to the act of creation, in painting and other art forms; and we discuss how human feeling needs to be the sine qua non, the basic currency, for discussing art shorn from desiccated models of criticism and art which hopelessly entangle conversations about art and justice in less robust or organic frameworks. We begin talking about the ethics of seeing, and how so many people in this world seem to not see anything - the epidemic of the headphones in the ears seems to play a role in this - as well as begin speaking about tone in the context of metaphor, symbol, and association.
