Retirement planning is hard, today we discuss "why is my retirement savings dropping in 2022"? I use my own retirement portfolio as an example to discuss the gains through 2020 and 2021, and the losses through 2022. I try to explain why thanks to the stock market, inflation, interest rates, and quantitative easing and quantitative tightening why your investment has gone down, and what to expect moving forward. This will apply to all investments, not just retirement savings, including TFSA, RRSP, and any personal investments in the stock market.
Canadian Money Matters is a new Canadian Financial Podcast for 2022 discussing:
✅ The Canadian economy
✅ The Canadian stock market the TSX
✅ Personal finance for Canadians
✅ Investing for beginners
Canadian Money Matters is dedicated to the following:
✅ Increasing financial education and financial literacy of Canadians
✅ Getting more Canadians taking control of their finances
✅ Having fun in the stock market while learning how to direct invest in top TSX stocks.
I am not a financial advisor, I am taking control of my finances through self-directed investing. I support everyone following sound financial fundamentals including having emergency savings, insurance, and the majority of principal savings in global market index funds or ETFs before you try direct investing.
I also believe that direct investing a portion of your money to have fun makes you
✅ A better investor and,
✅ More likely to START and CONTINUE investing from 18 to 81
