The Unicorn chats to Andrea Nettel from the Family Counselling Centre about the upcoming community & Mental Health Convention.

This August will see the launch of the inaugural ‘Community & Mental Health Convention’ in the SouthPeninsula. Its purpose – to bring together like minded individuals and organisations all of whom areinvolved in and passionate about community activities, upliftment and mental health.

Launched by The Family Counselling Centre (TFCC), this convention will take place over two days(19th and 20th August) at the King of Kings Baptist Centre in Sun Valley.

“There are so many community and mental health needs right here on our doorstep,” says AndreaNettel, founding director and counsellor, TFCC. “And, likewise, there are so many individuals andorganisations who are both passionate about and able to respond to these needs and, in that,contribute to the well-being of the community.”

The ‘Community & Mental Health Convention’ aims to create the opportunity to connect these twoentities and, by doing so, showcase both community requirements and community resources. “Bybringing all parties together, with a dedicated focus on discussing needs and available resources, ourgoal is to create a network for all to benefit from.”
